1. Information we collect

a) Information you provide yourself

• Name, email address and password (at sign-up; the password is stored in Firebase Authentication and we cannot see it)
• Gender, class (Six–Twelve, admission candidate, job seeker or other), group/stream, and subject/department
• Date of birth, phone number, address, division, district and thana (optional, when completing your profile)
• School/college/university name and year of passing (optional)
• Hobbies, skills and a short bio about yourself (optional)

b) Information collected automatically while you use the app

• The exams you take, your answers, scores and results
• Experience points (XP), level, badges, daily streak, bookmarks and your list of weak questions
• Friend challenge data: the challenge questions, your answers and score, your name, and the name of the person you challenged
• Your device’s Firebase Cloud Messaging token, used to send notifications
• The expiry date of any ad-free subscription or special access you have purchased

c) Information we do not collect

We do not collect any profile photo, GPS/precise location, contact list, or camera or microphone data. Your Advertising ID is not collected or used. Your profile shows a vector avatar generated inside the app based on your gender — no photo is uploaded or stored. Your division and district are chosen by you and are not taken from your phone’s location. We do not receive any payment or card details — purchases are handled entirely through Google Play. The app does not use any separate analytics or crash-reporting SDK.

• To create and manage your account
• To show you exams that match your class and subject
• To calculate and show your results, XP, leaderboard position and weekly report
• To keep challenges and competition among classmates running
• To send notifications about challenges, reminders and important announcements
• To keep the app working properly and to improve it
• To contact you when needed (for example, for support)

3. Leaderboard, public profile and classmate search

On the leaderboard and on another student’s view of your public profile, other students can see your name, class, gender-based avatar, XP/level, total number of exams taken, and any information you have provided — school/institution, division, district, department, hobbies, skills and bio. From this version, division and district are also shown on the public profile. Your pass rate is not shown on the public profile.

Students in the same class can find you by typing your name or school in the “Challenge a classmate” section and can send you a challenge. You can accept or decline it.

Your email, phone number, address, thana and date of birth are not shown to any other student. Information you have not provided is not displayed anywhere; if you leave optional fields blank, they will not be published.

4. Challenging a friend

When you create a challenge, your opponent can see the exam questions, your answers and score, and your name; once the game is finished, you can likewise see your opponent’s name, answers and score.

• In a challenge sent directly to someone, only the person it was sent to can join.
• If you share a challenge code, anyone the code reaches (and who is signed in to the app) can join — so only share the code with someone you trust.

If you delete your account, all challenges you created are deleted, and your name and answers in other people’s challenges are removed and made anonymous.

5. Notifications

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging and your phone’s local notifications to send you news of new challenges, challenge acceptance/decline/completion, and study and streak reminders. When the app is closed, it checks over the internet roughly every 15 minutes whether there are new challenges for your account. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone’s settings.

6. PDF notes

Chapter-note PDFs can only be read inside the app’s built-in viewer. There is no option to download or share them. To display a file, it is temporarily kept in the app’s private cache and is deleted when you close the viewer. To protect the educational content, screenshots and screen recording are disabled on this screen.

7. Third-party services

• Google Firebase — Authentication (login), Cloud Firestore (data storage) and Cloud Messaging (notifications)
• Google AdMob — displaying ads
• Google Play Billing — subscriptions/purchases

8. Advertising

This app shows ads through Google AdMob, which helps keep the app free. Because Prostuti is mainly for students and many users may be minors, the app is designated as fully “child-directed”. As a result:

• No personalised or behavioural ads are shown
• Only G-rated, family-friendly ads are shown
• Your Advertising ID is not collected or used

Where ads may appear: banners on some screens; a full-screen ad after you finish an exam, before the result is shown; and a rewarded ad before some exams begin and before you view the result of a friend challenge — watching a rewarded ad is clearly presented as entirely optional. No ad is ever shown while an exam is in progress. If you have an ad-free subscription, these ads are not shown.

9. Subscriptions and purchases

Ad-free or special-access subscriptions are purchased through Google Play. Google stores your payment information — we do not see it. We only store in your account which benefit is active and until what date. Refunds and subscription cancellation are governed by Google Play’s policies.

10. Data security

To keep your data safe, we use Firebase’s security features (Authentication and Firestore Security Rules) and encrypted (HTTPS) connections, so that only you can view and change your private information (phone, address, email, date of birth). However, no method of transmitting data over the internet is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account using the “Permanently delete account” option on the profile screen, your profile, exam history, XP, badges, streak, bookmarks, leaderboard data, challenges you created and your login account are permanently deleted; your name and answers in other people’s challenges are made anonymous. This takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. If you want to make a request after uninstalling the app, please contact us at the email below.

12. Students and minors

Prostuti is mainly built for students’ exam preparation, and many users may be minors. We do not collect more personal information than necessary, and the app can be used without providing any optional information. At the request of parents or teachers, we can help review or delete a student’s account data — please contact us at the email below. We ask parents to make sure their child does not write unnecessary personal information (such as a phone number) in their bio, because the bio can be seen by other students.

13. Your rights

You can view and edit your information from the profile screen at any time, and you can remove optional information. You can delete your account and all associated data from within the app itself. For any other request or complaint about your data, please contact us at the email below — we will respond within a reasonable time.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as needed. If there is a significant change, we will let you know through the app. The latest version will always be available on this page.
